Services Performed
- Confirm PS is inop and PS indicator is on. EPS Faults: C2512
- Torque Sensor Failure 2 (Sub) C2513
- Torque Sensor Failure 3 (Too Much Tolerance) Found the EPS torque sub-sensor (Senor 2) signal drops out to zero volts sometimes. System shuts off when this occurs. If signal is normal, the EPS works fine. Torque sensors are integrated into the power rack unit and not serviced separately, as is the wire harness. While monitoring the torque sensors on the data stream, wiggled and moved wiring between rack assy and EPS module. Found a consistent voltage cutout when moving the sensor harness about 6-8 inches away from the EPS module on the right fender area. Confirmed reading with multi-meter at the rack-side of the connector to eliminate connector as source of fault. Opened the harness slightly and unable to find issue in the accessible area. Harness is made of 5 wires in a shielded cable assembly, so opening the harness is not advised, as it will destroy the shielding which in needed. No visible external damage to harness noted. Will need to replace the rack assembly as a unit.
