- Battery totally dead on arrival. Tried to charge, was unable. Replaced battery. Engine unable to crank at first because trans was not in correct configuration to allow start. After waiting a few minutes and cycling the key, the trans shifted itself into correct position. Engine started and misfired a bit then cleared up. Full system code scan: Engine P0301-00

- Transmission Friction Element "B" Stuck On OBDII Permanent Codes ($0A) P07A5
- Transmission Friction Element "B" Stuck On The majority of the fault codes are from the low battery voltage. Misfire likely just due to sitting for an extended period. The P07A5 trans fault is the one to be concerned about along with the customer complaint of shifting issues. Cleared all faults and road tested a couple of miles. Trans shifting issues noted a few times and P07A5 reset. Ran the clutch system self-tests and calibration. Clutch test failed the "ramp test" portion on the first attempt, then passed on the second attempt. Calibration procedure then completed. Road test again for a longer period, and system operated normally. No current codes returned. There are two possibilities. Either the vehicle wasn't getting driven enough and one of the clutch actuators got sticky and lost calibration due to lack of movement, or the clutch actuator ramp itself is failing. These actuators are a common point of failure on these transmissions. If problem keeps happening, the transmission will need to be removed and the clutch kit will need to be replaced along with both shift actuator motors to ensure normal operation.
