Services Performed
- Engine has a dry manifold. Not able to leak coolant. Pressure test cooling system to 15 psi. Can see the water outlet housing under the throttle body area is dripping. Need to replace all housing components and the bypass hose. While pressure testing, the steel lower heater pipe on the right side of the engine blew out. The two heater pipes have prior repairs covered in epoxy/JB Weld. Cooling system is badly rusted from only having water in it. Pipes are rusting from the inside out and need to be replaced. Then system will need flush and filled with correct coolant mixture.
- Park brake hard to pull up, and doesn't hold even when pulled up to lock. Trace to BOTH rear park brake cables are seized. Caliper levers move freely and engage park brake okay. Also noted both inboard rear brake pads are cocked in their position due to incorrect alignment of caliper piston during last pad replacement. The pin on the pad is not aligned into the slot on the piston. This is causing uneven pad wear and will require new pads when corrected. Front brakes 70-75%. Advise not to use park brake at all until cables are replaced. Use may cause brakes to engage and not release.
