    • Code Scan: Engine – Memory Codes P1000
    • OBDII System Checks Incomplete P1260
    • Theft Detected, Engine Disabled Monitors are incomplete. Ignition lock can be rotated without key, and will set the P1260 code. Starts and runs rough and sometimes stalls or is hard to keep running. Engine is misfiring all the time. Smoke from tailpipe on start. Scan data shows constant misfire on #3 at idle, or low RPM. Cranking rhythm is irregular. Compression test, all cylinders: 1- 220 psi 2- 230 psi 3- 75 psi 4- Cant get a good reading. #4 plug was only in by one thread, came out by hand as soon at socket was put on. Plug boot was also sitting 3/4" too high. Cannot screw compression tester in. Plug was cross threaded and left. Got 150 psi, but compression was leaking around threads. Need to chase the spark plug threads in cylinder head to try to get plug in correctly. Leak down test shows 70-75% leakage. No leak found through valves, leak detected into crankcase through rings. Added oil to cylinder and checked leakage again. Leak rate was less than 5% for about 5 seconds then increased back to 75% as oil pushed though rings. Cylinder wall is scored when looking with borescope. Needs engine replaced.
    • Repair #4 spar plug threads

    • Engine Faults: P0301-00
    • Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected – – Pending DTC – Warning Lamp On. P0316-00
    • Misfire Detected On Startup (First 1000 Revolutions) – – Not Current DTC. Misfire history data shows faults only on #1. No hydrocarbons detected in the cooling system. Have not been able to duplicate misfire in shop or road test yet. Removed and tested the #1 ignition coil. Found good output at over 35kV, but when fully loaded the spark will arc out between the boot and the tester (where the plug would be). Carbon tracking noted on inside of boot. Inspected spark plug and noted tracking in the same spot on the plug and spark plug gap worn .003" over max gap range of .049-.053". #1 cylinder is on front bank, rear bank not accessible without intake plenum removal. Advise to replace spark plugs, install 3 new coils in rear bank (due to accessibility), and the coil boots on the front bank.
    • SPARK PLUGS – Remove & Replace – V6,Normally Aspirated
