Engine Faults: P0344
Camshaft Position Sensor Intermittent – Bank 1 Sensor 1 In shop the cam and crank sensors are both in sync and wave form is normal. Road test to get engine hot and found the cam sync signal failed about 5 miles into drive. Shutting engine off and restarting made system normal again until a couple miles later. Issue only happening at higher speed. Found engine oil very low. Added 4 qts and road test on the same route again. System was completely normal and MDS and VVT works normally. Suspect oil was low enough to cause issues with VVT system and cause cam/crank correlation to be off target. MIL turned off on it's own during second road test and stayed out. Overdue on LOF…Message on dash.
Change oil & filter. Top off all fluid levels. Check & adjust tire pressure. Visual inspection of hoses, belts, etc. Lube chassis.
