Services Performed
- Code Scan: Engine – Permanent Codes P0302
- Misfire No.2 Cylinder P0430
- Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold B2 Confirm #2 ignition misfire. Inspect #2 coil, found normal output and passes the arc test. Inspect #2 spark plug, found combustion chamber-side insulator broken. This is causing intermittent spark issue and misfire. Insulator breakage is due to oil consumption problem outlined in TSB for piston ring problem on cylinders 1-4 which are the VCM cylinders. There is a warranty extension for 8 years, unlimited mileage for piston ring issues, 1-4 misfires, and oil consumption. Vehicle no longer in this warranty period. Can try doing a de-carb procedure where pistons are soaked overnight with cleaner then with ATF before replacing spark plugs. There is also a catalyst efficiency code for bank 2 (front bank). Sounds like this has been an ongoing issue since we first started servicing this vehicle. Needs B2 cat, but B1 was previously noted as weak on scan data, but not setting code.
- No problem with oil pressure light. Light is on with key on, engine off, when there is no oil pressure. Light goes out with engine started.
- SPARK PLUGS – Remove & Replace – All
- With spark plugs removed, add top-end engine cleaner to all cylinders. Rotate crank by hand to allow cleaner to all parts of cylinder wall and to move rings. Soak overnight. In AM extract remaining cleaner and add ATF to all cylinders and rotate again. Allow a couple more hours to soak, then extract ATF. Install plugs and run engine to expel the remnant cleaner and oil.
- Change oil & filter. Top off all fluid levels. Check & adjust tire pressure. Visual inspection of hoses, belts, etc. Lube chassis.
- Replace the cabin filter
- Hazardous Waste Disposal Fee
