- In an attempt to check and clear the sunroof drains, found the sunroof glass will not operate, only the sunshade will. Remove switch from the ceiling panel and test control circuits. Signal return and control voltages are correct, meaning all circuits to motor are normal. Shade motor and glass motor share the same main power/ground circuit. Glass motor is faulty OR the mechanism is jammed which may have caused motor failure. Motor will not make any noise nor start to initialize. With glass unable to move, would need to drop the headliner to access and try to clean out the drain lines, or remove the glass panel. May only be able to access the front two drains by removing the glass. There are a total of four drains on this model, two that run down the A-pillars, and two that run down the C-pillars. Need to remove glass motor to check mechanism before motor replacement.
- Once glass was removed poured water into sunroof gutter channels and found both front drains plugged. Right side completely, and left side just barely dribbles. Left was able to empty itself in about 5 minutes. Using air blow tool was able to completely clear the drain lines. Muck came out of both sides. Drains now siphon water out very fast. Installed and adjusted panel. Installed interior panels.
