Services Performed
- Reseal transmission pan gasket and replace filter
- Replace serpentine belt
- Confirm no heat, also note there is a problem with air distribution as well. Cannot get air to come out of the floor vents at all, and cannot get defroster to turn off completely. Inspect control system and found multiple broken parts in the cams and gears on the driver side of the HVAC housing. Mode door actuator moves to its full positions, but can see Cam and gears broken on the linkage. Temperature control actuator only moves a tiny bit. Removed actuator and found that the linkage is also jammed. Move linkage back and forth a couple times and it freed up, but made no difference as far as air temperature. Whatever was jamming the linkage is free, but that broken piece is likely what is making the temperature control for the door not work. The actuator is also failed, likely from the jammed door. HVAC unit will have to be removed and parts replaced as needed. Would also recommend to replace the heater core as restriction and plugging is extremely common on these vehicles. I would also recommend coolant flush at that time.
- Includes Unit removal and disassembly to replace air distribution housing and/or parts as needed.
- Recover, evacuate and charge A/C. Test operation and test for leaks. None found.
- Remove and replace spark plugs
