- Confirm complaint. Transmission has failed mechanically. No vehicle movement in any gear. Fluid level is okay, but fluid is badly burnt and gray color from metal contamination. Smoke coming from dipstick tube. Loss of reverse on this transmission cannot be caused by an electrical issue. Trans needs overhaul or replacement.
- Remove and re install transmission for rebuild
- Complete transmission rebuild
- Remove and replace the rear main seal
- Flush transmission
- Change oil & filter. Top off all fluid levels. Check & adjust tire pressure. Visual inspection of hoses, belts, etc. Lube chassis.
