    • Confirm condition. Run full system code scan, see attached. Codes in all systems pertaining to loss of instrument cluster communication. The only module the scanner is unable to communicate with is the instrument cluster. Access instrument cluster fuses and test for proper power, okay at this time. Remove instrument cluster for testing directly at connector. Powers and grounds all tests normal. Communication circuits also test normal. Unplugging instrument cluster and plugging it back in solve the problem and reset the cluster. Suspect logic lock from possible low voltage condition during cranking. If problem happens again cluster will likely need to be replaced as long as battery and charging system are in good condition. Currently they both test okay.

    • Also replace sub harness and clean out rodent nest.
    • Engine fault code p0325 knock sensor system circuit fault. Trace to open in knock sensor circuit. Knock sensor is underneath the lower intake manifold and cannot easily be accessed. At this time can see a rodent nest underneath the intake manifold, completely covering all of the components including the knock sensor and harness. Since there's an open circuit, suspect rodent chewed the wiring to the knock sensor. Need to remove upper and lower intake manifold assemblies for further inspection and replacement of sensor and harness as needed.
