Services Performed
- Code Scan: Engine P0171
- Fuel Trim System Lean (Symptom 00) – Test Failed Since DTC Clear, History DTC, Test Not Passed Since Power Up, Warning Indicator Requested. Antilock Brakes C0196
- Yaw Rate Signal Invalid Serial Data Received (Symptom 71) – History DTC. OBDII Permanent Codes ($0A) P0171
- System Too Lean Bank 1 Freeze frame data showed lean condition was at idle, no vehicle speed and what looked like a fully warm engine. Total trims were in the upper 40% range. Monitored fuel trims and started up engine. O2 sensors warmed up and began operating normally. Trims were in normal range as engine warmed up fully. Road test and monitor. Found no issues with furl trims, maf readings, or O2 sensors. Trims are near zero when under cruise and light accell and slight lean at 8% at idle, but still in acceptable range and won't set codes until in the 20% range. Inspected MAF sensor for contamination and intake system for leakage. No issues found. After the second start up the MIL had turned itself off and the permanent fault cleared. This means the fault has not happened in the last 3 drive cycles. Cleared all faults in other systems and confirmed none are occurring at this time. Advise customer if/when MIL comes back on to leave vehicle overnight so we can see what the trims do on a full cold start. May be an intermittent intake leak that is temperature dependent. Traction/ABS fault looks like it is comm/network/module related. ABS code that was stored is not from an engine malfunction but more of a relation to the yaw sensor data which is supplied by network and also not happening at this time.
