Confirm cranks no start. Fuel pressure okay. Will start with supplemental fuel sprayed into intake. No injector pulse. Fault code P0340 Cam position sensor no signal. Test circuits to CMP, found okay. CMP sensor (Nissan calls it phase sensor) has failed. Engine will not start, or sometimes have very long start with failing CMP.
Remove & Replace camshaft position sensor
Change oil & filter. Top off all fluid levels. Check & adjust tire pressure. Visual inspection of hoses, belts, etc. Lube chassis.

Fault code scan: Engine fault P1217-engine over temperature condition No fuel smell at this time, only coolant. Found system 1 gallon low. pressure tested and found upper hose/filler elbow cracked. Need to replace upper hose assy and recheck cooling system operation. No HC detected in system at this time. Fault code will cause limp-mode/low power mode.
There is no separate fuse for the backlight on the radio display. May want to contact the dealer to see if they can supply light bulbs for it. The LCD display works but the backlight does not.
Remove & Replace – Upper radiator hose
Remove four wheels and rear brake drums/rotors to inspect brake condition. Inspect entire system for leaks. Front brakes slight pulsation, 50% remaining approx – aftermarket pads over hang rotor slightly might make noise. Rear brakes squeak when braking slow approx 25-30% remaining , rotors okay

There are communication codes in multiple systems. See attached code list. Engine system has a code for a loss of communication with transmission control module. Other modules have a basic communication Network fault code. At this time there are no issues and a quick visual inspection finds nothing out of the ordinary. Battery tests normal. All lights are off at time of inspection. Advised customer to return When problem begins to be more consistent. Troubleshooting will most likely get relatively involved and take two to three hours. Remove and install center panel and inspect HVAC head – Put HVAC panel back together. Nothing broken. – Connector was only partially plugged in – may be the comm issue.
